Total Package ($30) Includes the Friday reception, Saturday's special breakfast event, refreshments. Friday only ($10). Saturday only ($20). Children under 2 are free. Students do not typically attend the parent specific events due to class schedules, Spring Sing rehearsal and/or dining on the meal plan. Please talk with them about their schedule for the weekend. If you have questions, please reach out at parents@westmont.edu. Spring Sing tickets will be available to purchase separately through a ticketing agency. The link will be added here as soon as it's available.

FRIDAY 2025

8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Check out the classes welcoming visitors. Be prepared to participate -- and expect challenging content! 

A list of Open Classes will be added here before Parents Weekend.

Weekend Check-In 
8:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Location: Outside the Dining Commons 
Check in once during the weekend. Say hello, pick up your name tag and a cup of coffee or tea as you begin your day. If you arrive later in the day, look for the check in table, beginning at 2 pm, near the Global Leadership Center.

Worship in Chapel
10:30 a.m. - 11:20 a.m.
Location: Murchison Gym
Worship with the Westmont community and hear from Westmont parent and member of the board of trustees Goodie Goodloe. Goodloe travels the country mentoring students, educators, business professionals, athletes, entertainers, and faith communities about cultural and interpersonal relationships, leadership, character formation and faith. He has written three books, including “King Maker: Applying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s Leadership Lessons in Working with Athletes and Entertainers” (2015), “Habits: Six Steps to the Art of Influence” (2017), and his most recent “The Next Level: Growing with God … in His word, your walk, and your worship” (2022). He earned a doctorate of philosophy with an emphasis on leadership and social movement theory from Dallas Baptist University. Dr. Goodloe’s research examined the leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his work with athletes and entertainers during the Civil Rights Movement. He and his wife, Lucy, have two children, including Hannah '24.

You can buy lunch in the Dining Commons (cashless payment)  or go to one of many great restaurants in the area.

Parent Session & Reception
Location: Global Leadership Center
2:00-2:45 p.m. Talk for Parents
2:45-3:30 p.m. The Parents Council invites you to join them for light refreshments and great conversation following the talks.

Check-In
2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Location: near GLC
Check in once during the weekend. Pick up your name tag and let us know if you have any questions. If you arrive later in the day, stop by the check-in table on Saturday morning outside the morning session at the Global Leadership Center.

Enjoy Santa Barbara! Your student may be studying or rehearsing for Spring Sing Friday night. If not, there are great restaurants and sightseeing to enjoy together.

Explore Santa Barbara!  
There are a number of fun, Free Things to Do in the Santa Barbara Area. Your student may have errands to run or Spring Sing to prepare for -- discuss in advance what they are available for today.

Spring Sing

Location: Santa Barbara Bowl, 1122 N. Milpas Street. 

Spring Sing stars Westmont students! Bring a blanket and binoculars and enjoy a fun evening under the stars at this beautiful outdoor amphitheater nestled in the hills. A steep climb leads to venue. Allow ample time for parking and seating.

Dinner on the Town 
Enjoy dinner in town with your student. Consider taking along their roommate or new friend. This is a great time to listen and learn more about your student's college life so far. Here are some local favorites.

This is a partial list of area hotels. Some stay north toward Goleta, while some may stay south toward Carpinteria. Vacation rentals may also be an option.

Friday 8:45 a.m.-5 p.m. (Note, bookstore is closed during chapel, 10:30-11:20 a.m.)
